Photoinduced Gold(I)–Gold(I) Chemical Bonding in Dicyanoaurate Oligomers

Golding's Englished Metamorphoses
Translation and Literature, 1996Golding's Ovid has regularly attracted slightly patronizing affection from twentieth-century critics and editors.2 Gordon Braden, in the best recent study, provides an account of the translation as an Elizabethan Ovid of a particular kind: the product of an intellectual mediocrity with a certain charm, which is characteristically Elizabethan without ...

Abstract Gold(I) complexes of overall formula LAuCl (L = various methylpyridines) are non-conducting in acetone. X-ray structure analyses show that the solid state structure of the cor responding complex 1 (L = 2-picoline) is molecular; the 3-picoline derivative 2 is however ionic (L2Au)+(AuCl2)-.

A multipurpose gold(i) precatalyst
Chemical Communications, 2011[Au(tmbn)(2)](SbF(6)) is the first gold(I) complex supported by two nitrile ligands that is indefinitely stable at room temperature. This is a highly versatile precatalyst that can be used for the preparation of active and robust solid-supported gold(I) catalysts.

AbstractThe study of perfluoroalkyl metal complexes is key to understand and improve metal‐promoted perfluoroalkylation reactions. Herein, we report the synthesis of the first gold complexes with primary or secondary perfluoroalkyl ligands by photoinitiated reactions between AuI organometallic complexes and iodoperfluoroalkanes.

The 2,4,6-trithiocyanurate complex [2,4,6-C3N3(SAuL)3] is stable when L = triphenylphosphine, but when L = tert-butyl isocyanide, it reacts to give the hexagold(I) complex [{C3N3(AuL)(SAuL)S2(μ-Au)}2], which contains short intramolecular Au···Au bonds and forms a novel two-dimensional sheet structure through intermolecular Au···Au bonding.
