UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Gold(III) Pyridine-Benzimidazole Complexes as Aquaglyceroporin Inhibitors and Antiproliferative Agents

open access: yesInorganics, 2018
Gold compounds have been proven to be novel and versatile tools for biological applications, including as anticancer agents. Recently, we explored the potential of Au(III) complexes with bi-dentate N-donor ligands as inhibitors of the membrane water and ...

The crystal structure of the Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase BBE22 resolves a long‐standing annotation error

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...

UV–Vis Spectra of Gold(III) Complexes with Different Halides, Hydroxide, and Ammonia According to TD-DFT Calculations

open access: yesChemistry
This paper presents accurate TD-DFT calculations for several mixed-ligand gold(III) complexes with ligands including Cl−, Br−, I−, OH−, and NH3. The calculated results show excellent agreement with available experimental data.

Alkyne hydroarylation with Au N-heterocyclic carbene catalysts

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2013
Mono- and dinuclear gold complexes with N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands have been employed as catalysts in the intermolecular hydroarylation of alkynes with simple unfunctionalised arenes.

Haloperfluorocarbons with Gold(I) Organometallic Complexes. Perfluoroalkyl Gold(I) and Gold(III) Complexes

open access: yes, 2021
The study of perfluoroalkyl metal complexes is key to understanding and improving metal-promoted perfluoroalkylation reactions. Herein we report the synthesis of the first gold complexes with primary or secondary perfluoroalkyl ligands by photoinitiated reactions between Au(I) organometallic complexes and iodoperfluoroalkanes.

Crystal Structure of the Gold(III) Complex, Trichloro(dibenzyl sulfide)gold(III) [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1991
Abstract The structure of the title complex has been determined. The crystal is orthorhombic, with the space group Pnma, Z=4, a=13.331 (2), b=16.130 (3), and c=7.6949 (9) A. The complex has a square-planar coordination geometry. The Au and the 3C11S donor atoms are located on a crystallographic mirror plane.

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...

Controlled supramolecular assemblies of luminescent tridentate cyclometalated alkynylgold(III) amphiphiles in aqueous media

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
Gold(III) complexes and amphiphiles have been extensively investigated over a decade. Supramolecular assemblies of gold(III) amphiphiles in aqueous media exhibit high sensitivities to external stimulations for soft functional materials.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.
