Safety, Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Evaluation of Teverelix for the Treatment of Hormone-Sensitive Advanced Prostate Cancer: Phase 2 Loading-Dose-Finding Studies

open access: yesMedicina, 2023
Background and objectives: Teverelix drug product (DP) is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist in development for the treatment of patients with prostate cancer in whom androgen deprivation therapy is indicated. The aim of this paper is to present

Gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists: Expanding vistas

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2011
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists are derived from native GnRH by amino acid substitution which yields the agonist resistant to degradation and increases its half-life. The hypogonadotropic hypogonadal state produced by GnRH agonists has been often dubbed as “pseudomenopause” or “medical oophorectomy,” which are both misnomers.

The effect of ovarian stimulation protocol on follicular asynchrony during in vitro fertilization – A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To examine the effect of controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) protocol on follicular synchrony in a subsequent in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle in patients whose previous cycle was canceled due to asynchrony. Methods A single‐center retrospective‐cohort study (January 2018–March 2024), including women undergoing IVF who had: (1) a ...

The Oocyte/Antral Follicle Count Index: Does Maximizing Oocyte Yield Translate into Better Assisted Reproductive Technology Outcomes?

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives Whether aspiration of more oocytes than the antral follicle count (AFC) is beneficial for the current and future products of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) cycles. Methods Data of the first oocyte aspiration for intracytoplasmic sperm injection performed between 2018 and 2022 in attempt to conceive (ICSI, n = 399) or for planned ...

Impact of an oral gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist on severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome in a patient with breast cancer who received a sustained-release gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist : A case report.

open access: yes, 2021
pdfPostoperative hormone therapy for hormone-sensitive patients with breast cancer is important to prevent a recurrence. As hormone therapy does not induce infertility in patients, fertility-preserving therapy is not provided during treatment.

Musculoskeletal Outcomes of Glucagon‐Like Peptide‐1 Receptor Agonists Versus Other Antiobesity Agents in Nondiabetic Adults

open access: yesObesity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to evaluate the association of glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) with risks of osteoporosis, major osteoporotic fractures, and degenerative musculoskeletal disorders in nondiabetic adults with obesity compared with other obesity medications.

Differential expression and functional characterization of luteinizing hormone receptor splice variants in human luteal cells : Implications for luteolysis

open access: yes, 2009
The human LH receptor (LHR) plays a key role in luteal function and the establishment of pregnancy through its interaction with the gonadotropins LH and human chorionic gonadotropin.

Endocrine therapy‐induced cancer‐related fatigue in hormone‐dependent malignancies: Mechanisms, impact, and management strategies

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
Multipathway schematic of endocrine therapy–induced cancer‐related fatigue. Endocrine interventions trigger four interacting mechanisms—neuroendocrine dysregulation, systemic inflammation, energy‐metabolic failure, and psycho‐behavioral amplification—that culminate in the multidimensional CRF phenotype.

Effect of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist on ES-2 ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2014
Objective: Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor is found in the ovarian tissue, including epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), suggesting that GnRH agonists may have direct action on EOC.
