Negative Regulation of Gonadotropin‐Releasing Hormone and Gonadotropin‐Releasing Hormone Receptor Gene Expression by a Gonadotropin‐Releasing Hormone Agonist in the Rat Hypothalamus

Journal of Neuroendocrinology, 1999
There exists evidence for the presence of ultrashort loop feedback circuits of gonadotropin‐releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion in the hypothalamus. It is, however, uncertain whether a similar mechanism is involved in the regulation of GnRH gene expression in vivo.

A NOVEL METHOD FOR LOCALIZATION OF GONADOTROPIN RELEASING HORMONE RECEPTORS

Endocrinology, 1982
Two 125I-labeled analogs of GnRH, [acidobenzoyl-D-Lys6]GnRH (I) and [D-Lys6]GnRH (II) were used for the localization of GnRH receptors in pituitary cells. The analogs exhibited high binding affinity to pituitary membrane preparations and after photoactivation (analog I) or cross-linking with glutaraldehyde (analog II), these analogs are bound ...

Internalization kinetics of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor

Pflügers Archiv - European Journal of Physiology, 2000
This study quantified the agonist-induced endocytotic and recycling events of the mammalian gonadotropin releasing hormone receptor (GnRH-R) and investigated the role of the intracellular carboxyl (C)-terminal tail in regulating agonist-induced receptor internalization kinetics.

Relationship Between Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone/Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone Receptor Signaling and Progesterone Receptors in Human Trophoblasts.

The Journal of reproductive medicine, 2016
To investigate the relationship between gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)/gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor (GnRHR) signaling and progesterone receptors (PGRs).HTR-8/SV neo cells and JEG-3 cells were incubated for 24 hours with GnRH-I or -II. The expression of PGRs was measured by quantitative real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain ...

Dynamic model of gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor function

American Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, 1985
Functioning gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor is visualized as an aggregate of identical subunits (not all always functional) with the aggregate usually transformed into at least four successive structurally distinct receptor assemblies. Receptor protein, hormone molecule(s), and carrier(s) are main components of each functional subunit ...

Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone Receptor Signaling: Biased and Unbiased

Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, 2012
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone is a neuropeptide that acts via Gq coupled G-protein coupled receptors in the pituitary that mediate central control of reproduction. GnRH receptors (GnRHR) and GnRH ligands are also found in extra-pituitary sites including the CNS as well as reproductive tissues and cancer cells derived from such tissues.
