DNMT aberration-incurred GPX4 suppression prompts osteoblast ferroptosis and osteoporosis

open access: yesBone Research
Osteoporosis (OP) is a common and fracture-prone skeletal disease characterized by deteriorated trabecular microstructure and pathologically involving various forms of regulated bone cell death.

Antioxidants and Regulation of Antioxidant Enzymes by Cellular Redox Status [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
It has been well known that free radicals have numerous detrimental effects in both in vitro and in vivo in biological systems because of their unavoidable and tremendous reactivity against biological macromolecules especially proteins, carbohydrates and

Volumetric Engineered 3D Drug Reservoir Against Diabetic Implant Infection via Cuproptosis‐Like Bacterial Death and Hunger‐Triggered Maintenance of Mitochondrial Integrity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study provides a volumetric engineered 3D drug reservoir to combat diabetic implant infection. Cu‐doped quantum dots induce cuproptosis‐like bacterial death via metabolic collapse, while glucose oxidase triggers hunger‐triggered mitochondrial protection in host cells.

ROS‐Responsive Hydrogel for Localized Delivery of Nampt and Stat3 Inhibitors Exhibits Synergistic Antitumor Effects in Colorectal Cancer Through Ferroptosis Induction and Immune Microenvironment Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, ferroptosis in colorectal cancer cells is induced by FK866 through the NAD⁺/STAT3/GPX4 pathway. To minimize systemic toxicity, a reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐responsive hydrogel is developed to co‐deliver FK866 and C188‐9, resulting in synergistic and localized antitumor effects.

Patients‐Derived Organoids Sequencing‐based FOXP4 Facilitates Radioresistance by Transcriptionally Modifying GPX4 to Regulate ferroptosis in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FOXP4 regulates GPX4 transcription to suppress ferroptosis. In CRC patients, initial biopsies established PDO cultures alongside concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Post‐treatment MRI with mrTRG scoring stratified radioresistant/sensitive cohorts. Parallelly, 8Gy‐irradiated PDOs underwent viability‐based stratification.
