ALKBH5‐Mediated M6A Demethylation of G3BP1 Attenuates Ferroptosis Via Cytoplasmic Retention of YBX1/p53 in Diabetic Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ALKBH5 promoted G3BP1 expression via m⁶A methylation at sites 142/173. G3BP1 interacts with YBX1 and p53, reducing their nuclear translocation and decreasing p53‐mediated SLC7A11 repression. This inhibites cardiomyocyte ferroptosis and mitigates myocardial damage during diabetic ischemia‐reperfusion injury.

Nanoshield‐Assisted Viral Gene Therapy with Induction of Non‐Apoptotic Cell Death and Durable Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel hybrid gene delivery platform combines adeno‐associated virus (AAV)‐mediated receptor‐interacting kinase 3 (RIPK3) expression with manganese dioxide‐polyethyleneimine (MnO2−PEI) nanoshield to induce necroptosis, ferroptosis, and immunogenic cell death, effectively reprogramming the tumor microenvironment.

Bicyclic Selenenyl Sulfides with Tuned Bioreductive Step Rates Reveal Constraints for Probes Targeting Thioredoxin Reductase

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Thiol reductants activate dichalcogenide probes by a cascade of partly reversible steps. Careful dichalcogenide engineering can tune the rates of these steps separately, to aim at probes that are kinetically selective for specific oxidoreductases in live cells.

SNORA58 Facilitates Radioresistance via Suppressing JNK1‐Mediated Ferroptosis in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In ESCC patients, SNORA58 exhibits heterogeneous expression patterns. Its aberrant overexpression stabilizes CTCF by inhibiting ubiquitin‐mediated degradation, leading to the attenuation of JNK1‐mediated ferroptosis induced by radiotherapy through disruption of intracellular iron homeostasis, and ultimately contributes to radioresistance ...

A Mesoporous Calcium Peroxide Nanocuboid with High Tumor Accumulation Across Biological Barriers for High Efficacy Tumor Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ferroheme (FH) and exceedingly small magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (IO) loaded mesoporous calcium peroxide nanocuboid (MCPNC) with conjugation of hyaluronic acid (HA) possesses exceptional capability of tumor accumulation, and enhances therapeutic efficacy of tumors based on the mechanism of promoting a positive feedback loop of Fenton reaction

Homocysteine induces ferroptosis in renal tubular epithelial cells via β-catenin/GPX4 signaling pathway

open access: yesScientific Reports
Hyperhomocysteinemia can cause severe damage to kidney. Ferroptosis represents a critical mechanism in the initiation and development of kidney disorders. We focus on the β-catenin/GPX4 signaling pathway to explore how homocysteine influences ferroptosis
