A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-flagellated, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain Lxc1T, was isolated from the surface of a marine red alga, Gracilaria sp., which was collected from the coastal regions in Jinjiang, Fujian Province, China. Colonies of the strain were orange-yellow, circular and smooth.
