Non-local gradient dependent operators
AbstractIn this paper we study a general class of “quasilinear non-local equations” depending on the gradient which arises from tug-of-war games. We establish a Cα/C1,α/C2,α regularity theory for these equations (the kind of regularity depending on the assumptions on the kernel), and we construct different non-local approximations of the p-Laplacian.

Density-dependence tips the change of plant–plant interactions under environmental stress
Density-dependence is rarely accounted for in plant-plant facilitation studies. Here the authors develop a framework that incorporates density-dependence in the stress-gradient hypothesis, and test it first through modeling and then empirically on ...

Range dependent phase gradient autofocus [PDF]
The Phase Gradient Autofocus (PGA) algorithm has been widely used in spotlight synthetic aperture radar (SAR) to remove motion-induced blurs in the images. The PGA algorithm has been proven to be a superior autofocus method. PGA assumes a narrow beam, which is valid for most SAR systems.

Gravity is the primary load source in geotechnical engineering, and its effect becomes extremely important in these cases such as lunar research station construction and in situ resource utilization. However, at the current stage, the study on the effect

An isogeometric analysis approach to gradient‐dependent plasticity [PDF]
SummaryGradient‐dependent plasticity can be used to achieve mesh‐objective results upon loss of well‐posedness of the initial/boundary value problem because of the introduction of strain softening, non‐associated flow, and geometric nonlinearity.

Dispersive properties of gradient-dependent and rate-dependent media
The dispersive behaviour of waves propagating in gradient-dependent and rate-dependent media is investigated analytically and numerically. Attention is focused on the proper modelling of dynamic strain localisation and the crucial role that dispersion plays in this.

Color Gradients in Early-Type Galaxies in Clusters at the Redshift from 0.37 to 0.56 [PDF]
Color gradients in elliptical galaxies in distant clusters ($z=0.37-0.56$) are examined by using the archival deep imaging data of Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) on-board the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Obtained color gradients are compared with the two model gradients to examine the origin of the color gradients.

Smoothed Gradient Clipping and Error Feedback for Decentralized Optimization under Symmetric Heavy-Tailed Noise [PDF]
Motivated by understanding and analysis of large-scale machine learning under heavy-tailed gradient noise, we study decentralized optimization with gradient clipping, i.e., in which certain clipping operators are applied to the gradients or gradient estimates computed from local nodes prior to further processing.
