Exercise intolerance is a common complication in long‐term survivors of allogeneic hematopoietic stem‐cell transplantation. In this study, we found reduced oxygen uptake (VO2peak) by cardio‐pulmonary exercise tests to be associated with left ventricular systolic dysfunction by echocardiography.

CD4+FOXP3+ Regulatory T Cell Therapies in HLA Haploidentical Hematopoietic Transplantation
Since their discovery CD4+FOXP3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) represented a promising tool to induce tolerance in allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation.

Dynamical System Modeling Of Immune Reconstitution Following Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation Identifies Patients At Risk For Adverse Outcomes [PDF]
Systems that evolve over time and follow mathematical laws as they do so, are called dynamical systems. Lymphocyte recovery and clinical outcomes in 41 allograft recipients conditioned using anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) and 4.5 Gray total-body-irradiation were studied to determine if immune reconstitution could be described as a dynamical system ...

Mechanics of polymer brush based soft active materials -- theory and experiments [PDF]
Brush-like structures emerge from stretching of long polymer chains, densely grafted on to the surface of an impermeable substrate. They arise due to the competition between conformational entropic elasticity of polymer chains and excluded volume interactions from the intra and interchain monomer repulsions.

Pathophysiologic mechanisms of acute graft-vs.-host disease
Graft-vs.-host disease (GVHD) remains the major toxicity of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. Mechanistic studies in experimental animal models provide a better understanding of the complex relationships and cascade of events mediated by cellular and inflammatory factors.

Gut Microbiota‐Butyrate‐PPARγ Axis Modulates Adipose Regulatory T Cell Population
This study identifies the indispensable role of gut microbiota in the maintenance of ST2+ adipose Treg cell population, and defines gut microbiota‐derived butyrate as an endogenous PPARγ agonist, modulating adipose Treg cell populations via promoting PPARγ activation. Butyrate or fiber supplementation restores the VAT ST2+ Treg population in obese mice

Deep Reinforcement Learning for Dynamic Treatment Regimes on Medical Registry Data [PDF]
This paper presents the first deep reinforcement learning (DRL) framework to estimate the optimal Dynamic Treatment Regimes from observational medical data. This framework is more flexible and adaptive for high dimensional action and state spaces than existing reinforcement learning methods to model real-life complexity in heterogeneous disease ...

A clinical trial combining donor bone marrow infusion and heart transplantation: intermediate-term results. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Donor chimerism (the presence of donor cells of bone marrow origin) is present for years after transplantation in recipients of solid organs. In lung recipients, chimerism is associated with a lower incidence of chronic rejection.

The salivary sheath protein myosin from SBPH is critical for the formation of the salivary sheath and feeding. However, myosin functions as a HAMP and triggered plant BAK1‐mediated PTI responses, which include the activation of calcium signaling pathways, MAPK phosphorylation, ROS bursts, and cell death, thereby triggering JA pathway.
