The global B − L symmetry in the flavor-unified SU(N) theories
We study the origin of the global B − L symmetry in a class of flavor-unified theories with gauge groups of SU(N ≥ 6). In particular, we focus on the SU(8) theory which can minimally embed three-generational SM fermions non-trivially.

The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

New models of SU(6) grand gauge-Higgs unification
A five dimensional SU(6) grand gauge-Higgs unification compactified on S 1/Z 2 is discussed. We propose new sets of the SU(6) representations where the quarks and leptons in one generation are embedded and there is no extra massless exotic fermions ...

Comparative analysis of chloroplast genomes from 14 genera of Thymelaeaceae revealed variation in gene content, ranging from 128 to 142 genes, primarily influenced by IR expansion/contraction events and pseudogenization of ndhF, ndhI, and ndhG. Two large inversions were detected within the large single‐copy region, including a synapomorphic inversion ...

Leptogenesis in five-dimensional asymptotic grand unification models
Asymptotic grand unification models can be constructed in five dimensions compactified on an orbifold. We demonstrate that the parameter space of such models admit solutions that naturally achieve the baryon asymmetry via leptogenesis, these solutions ...

SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
