Minimum trace norm of real symmetric and Hermitian matrices with zero diagonal

open access: yesSpecial Matrices
We establish tight lower bounds for the trace norm (‖⋅‖1)\left(\Vert \cdot {\Vert }_{1}) of real symmetric and Hermitian matrices with zero diagonal entries in terms of their entrywise L1{L}^{1}-norms (‖⋅‖(1))\left(\Vert \cdot {\Vert }_{\left(1)}).

MRF Optimization by Graph Approximation

open access: yes, 2015
Graph cuts-based algorithms have achieved great success in energy minimization for many computer vision applications. These algorithms provide approximated solutions for multi-label energy functions via move-making approach.

Lower bounds of graph energy in terms of matching number

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2018
The energy E ( G ) of a graph G is the sum of the absolute values of all eigenvalues of G . We are interested in the relation between the energy of a graph G and the matching number μ ( G ) of G . It is proved that E ( G ) ≥ 2 μ ( G ) for every graph G ,

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

A Graph Grammar for Modelling RNA Folding

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a new approach for modelling the process of RNA folding as a graph transformation guided by the global value of free energy. Since the folding process evolves towards a configuration in which the free energy is minimal, the global behaviour ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Certain Energies of Graphs for Dutch Windmill and Double-Wheel Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2022
Energy of a graph is defined as the sum of the absolute values of the eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix associated with the graph. In this research work, we find color energy, distance energy, Laplacian energy, and Seidel energy for the Dutch windmill ...

𝒫-energy of graphs

open access: yesActa Universitatis Sapientiae, Informatica, 2020
Abstract Given a graph G = (V, E), with respect to a vertex partition 𝒫 we associate a matrix called 𝒫-matrix and define the 𝒫-energy, E𝒫 (G) as the sum of 𝒫-eigenvalues of 𝒫-matrix of G. Apart from studying some properties of 𝒫-matrix, its eigenvalues and obtaining bounds of 𝒫-energy, we explore the robust(shear) 𝒫-energy which is the ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Time-Dependent Lagrangian Energy Systems on Supermanifolds with Graph Bundles

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2021
The aim of this article is firstly to improve time-dependent Lagrangian energy equations using the super jet bundles on supermanifolds. Later, we adapted this study to the graph bundle.
