Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Effective Target Privacy Protection Against Dynamic-Link-Prediction-Based Attacks via Adversarial Learning

open access: yesMathematics
Graph data mining has emerged as a prominent area of research in both academic and industrial domains. Dynamic link prediction, a critical subfield within graph data mining, offers a more realistic representation of real-world networks compared to static

Applying the take-grant protection model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The Take-Grant Protection Model has in the past been used to model multilevel security hierarchies and simple protection systems. The models are extended to include theft of rights and sharing information, and additional security policies are examined ...

Dynamics Based Privacy Protection for Average Consensus on Directed Graphs

open access: yesCoRR, 2018
Average consensus is key for distributed networks, with applications ranging from network synchronization, distributed information fusion, decentralized control, to load balancing for parallel processors. Existing average consensus algorithms require each node to exchange explicit state values with its neighbors, which results in the undesirable ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

A Regional Protection Partition Strategy Considering Communication Constraints and Its Implementation Techniques

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Regional protection based on multisource information of a regional power network depends on communication technology. A partition strategy considering communication constraints and implementation techniques must be considered to realize the regional ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Single failure resiliency in greedy routing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Using greedy routing, network nodes forward packets towards neighbors which are closer to their destination. This approach makes greedy routers significantly more memory-efficient than traditional IP-routers using longest-prefix matching.

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Heuristic Solution to Protect Communications in WDM Networks using P-cycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Optical WDM mesh networks are able to transport huge amount of information. The use of such technology however poses the problem of protection against failures such as fibre cuts.
