Statics and dynamics of the Lebwohl-Lasher model in the Bethe approximation

open access: yes, 2006
We study the Lebwohl-Lasher model for systems in which spin are arranged on random graph lattices. At equilibrium our analysis follows the theory of spin-systems on random graphs which allows us to derive exact bifurcation conditions for the phase ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

An algebraic analysis of the graph modularity

open access: yes, 2014
One of the most relevant tasks in network analysis is the detection of community structures, or clustering. Most popular techniques for community detection are based on the maximization of a quality function called modularity, which in turn is based upon

A Graph-Theory Based fMRI Analysis

open access: yes
In this study, we employed a clustering approach to analyze fMRI data from a publicly available dataset of patients with mild depression. We utilized the CONN toolbox, a widely recognized tool, to extract functional networks from the fMRI data. Subsequently, these networks were aligned using MULTIMAGNA++, a global multiple alignment software, to ensure

Thermo-Fluid Analysis Using Linear Graph Theory.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1995
When we obtain analytical results for a mechanical system by numerical analysis, we may consider many kinds of physical influence, including electricity, mechanical vibration, heat, and flow. However, it is difficult to deal with each system simultaneously.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Graph Theory in the Analysis of Arithmophobia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering, 2019
In this paper, Graph theoretical concepts are applied to analyze the reasons behind Arithmophobia commonly found among the students.Bull graph is used to epitomize Mild Arithmophobia which occurs when the preparation of students to face any test is deficient.Flower graph is used to represent Intense Arithmophobia.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
