Optimized Hybrid Central Processing Unit–Graphics Processing Unit Workflow for Accelerating Advanced Encryption Standard Encryption: Performance Evaluation and Computational Modeling

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study addresses the growing demand for scalable data encryption by evaluating the performance of AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption and decryption using CBC (Cipher Block Chaining) and CTR (Counter Mode) modes across various CPU (Central ...

A Survey of Techniques for Improving Security of GPUs

open access: yes, 2018
Graphics processing unit (GPU), although a powerful performance-booster, also has many security vulnerabilities. Due to these, the GPU can act as a safe-haven for stealthy malware and the weakest `link' in the security `chain'.

A Thermodynamic 3D Model for the Simulation of Diffusion‐Controlled Alloying Processes in Heterogeneous Material Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Multi-GPU Implementation of Nearest-Regularized Subspace Classifier for Hyperspectral Image Classification

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2020
The classification of hyperspectral imagery (HSI) is an important part of HSI applications. The nearest-regularized subspace (NRS) is an effective method to classify HSI as one of the sparse representation methods.

Bio‐Orthogonally Crosslinked Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrush Hydrogels for Long‐Term 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

Assembling a True “Olympic Gel” From over 16 000 Combinatorial DNA Rings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Olympic gels are an elusive class of soft matter, consisting of molecular networks held together purely by mechanically interlocked rings. Their topological structure promises unique properties and functions, but their synthesis has proven notoriously difficult.

A Large-Batch Orthorectification Generation Method Based on Adaptive GPU Thread Parameters and Parallel Calculation

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2023
Orthorectification reflects a large amount of real and objective information, such as the characteristics of images and the geometric accuracy of maps. Conducting a large batch of orthorectification is a process with high time cost owing to the pixelwise
