Oral vaccination of BacFish-vp6 against grass carp reovirus evoking antibody response in grass carp
Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2013To obtain a vaccine and evaluate its immune efficacy as an oral vaccine against Grass Carp Reovirus (GCRV), a donor vector pFastBac-FA-VP6-ph-VP6 containing two GCRV vp6 genes, one driven by the Megalobrama amblycephala β-actin promoter and another one controlled by baculovirus polyhedrin promoter was constructed to generate the recombinant baculovirus

Triploid Grass Carp Production
The Progressive Fish-Culturist, 1987Abstract Triploid grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) were produced by application of various cold or heat shocks to the eggs at different time intervals after addition of water to the milt-roe mixture and for varying durations. Up to 87% of grass carp produced were triploids.

The relationship between food preference hierarchy and consumption rate was examined for the grass carp, Ctenopharygodon idella, and its Fl hybrid (grass carp × bighead carp). Preferences of both types of fish were similar, although hybrids consumed vegetation at a much lower rate.

Aquaculture, 2020
Abstract Hemorrhagic disease caused by grass carp reovirus (GCRV) is considered to be one of the most serious threats to grass carp, resulting in significant economic loss in aquaculture industry. Currently, vaccination is the most effective method to against GCRV infection and improve the production of grass carp.

A novel GCRV strain isolated from healthy grass carp was named as grass carp reovirus - HH196 (GCRV-HH196), and its infection mechanism remains unclear. In this study, the grass carp ovary cell line (GCO cells) was used to investigate the cell death involved in GCRV-HH196 infection.

Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) is subject to a hemorrhagic disease caused by grass carp reovirus (GCRV), which can lead to mass mortality in grass carp culture, causing significant economic loss. Vaccination is the most promising strategy for the prevention of infectious diseases.

Frequent outbreaks of grass carp hemorrhagic disease, caused by grass carp reovirus (GCRV) infection, pose as serious threats to the production of grass carp Ctenopharyngodon idella. Although various nucleic acids-based diagnostic methods have been shown effective, lack of commercial monoclonal antibody against grass carp IgM has impeded the ...

Epidemiology of the Grass Carp Reovirus
2021Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) aquaculture accounts for a large share of the freshwater fishery industry in China. However, frequent outbreaks of grass carp hemorrhagic disease (GCHD) caused by the grass carp reovirus (GCRV) infection poses a great threat and causes a tremendous loss to grass carp aquaculture farming almost every year ...

CpG oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs) show strong immune stimulatory activity in vertebrate, however, they possess specific sequence feature among species. In this study, we screened out an optimal CpG ODN sequence for grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella), 1670A 5'-TCGAACGTTTTAACGTTTTAACGTT-3', from six published sequences and three sequences designed by ...
