Comparative experiments on starter diets for grass carp and common carp
Aquaculture, 1988Abstract The influence of different compound diets and live zooplankton on growth and survival of two species of cyprinid larvae was compared. In common carp larvae fed exclusively on dry diets high mortality occurred in most cases; exceptions were fish fed Ewos C 20 starter diet (12%).

Synergistic approach in carp polyculture with grass carp as a major component
Aquaculture, 1986Abstract Using either phosphatic or nitrogenous fertilizers and aquatic weeds, yields of the order of 9.7 – 12.3 kg and 13.5 – 14.7 kg per ha per day were realised in 1981 and 1982, respectively, in carp polyculture at input costs of Rs 1.13-Rs 1.77 (US $ 0.09 – 0.15).

Zoogeography of the Grass Carp in the United States
Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1978Abstract Since 1963, the grass carp, Ctenopharyngodon idella Val., has spread to at least 35 states through stockings and subsequent dispersal. Grass carp have been found in several major river systems and in areas near research sites. Further spread of the species will probably occur with increased research and stocking of grass carp for weed control.
