Bag of Tricks for Efficient Text Classification

open access: yes, 2016
This paper explores a simple and efficient baseline for text classification. Our experiments show that our fast text classifier fastText is often on par with deep learning classifiers in terms of accuracy, and many orders of magnitude faster for training

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Mössbauer characterisations and magnetic properties of iron cobaltites CoxFe3−xO4 (1 ≤ x ≤ 2.46) before and after spinodal decomposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Iron cobaltite powders CoxFe3_xO4 (1 ≤ x ≤ 2.46) were synthesized with compositions in between the cobalt errite CoFe2 O4 and Co2.46Fe0.54O4. The cationic distribution of pure spinel phases was determined by Mossbauer spectroscopy: as Co content ...

Modeling Graves’ Orbitopathy in Experimental Graves’ Disease [PDF]

open access: yesHormone and Metabolic Research, 2015
AbstractGraves’ orbitopathy (GO), also known as thyroid eye disease is an inflammatory disease of the orbital tissue of the eye that arises as a consequence of autoimmune thyroid disease. The central feature of the disease is the production of antibodies to the thyrotropin hormone receptor (TSHR) that modulate the function of the receptor leading to ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Refractory Status Epilepticus Treated With Bilateral Pulvinar Deep Brain Stimulation—A Case Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT New‐onset refractory status epilepticus (NORSE) arises without an identifiable cause or prior epilepsy history, with a 16%–27% mortality rate and significant long‐term neurological sequelae. Neuromodulation such as deep brain stimulation (DBS) targeting the anterior and centromedian thalamic nuclei has shown promise when the traditional ...
