Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Thyroid sonography as an extension of the bedside examination in hyperthyroidism
In this mini-review, we discuss the role of thyroid sonography as a ‘point-of-care’ tool for assessing and managing patients with (suspected) hyperthyroidism who present to the endocrine outpatient clinic.

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Notes on the metal pyxides recently discovered in the Sarmatian environment south the Lower Mureș River [PDF]
This study, although not exhaustive, attempts to analyse pieces of the type discovered in the Sarmatian environment of the Great Hungarian Plain starting from the bronze and iron pyxides discovered in 2010 during the rescue archaeological excavations ...

Thyroid eye disease or Graves’ orbitopathy: What name to use, and why it matters
There is currently no universally accepted name for inflammatory disease of the eye and orbit associated with thyroid autoimmune disease. Variability in terminology impedes the evaluation of scientific literature and clinical collaboration and can affect

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for
