From the Fibonacci Icosagrid to E8 (Part II): The Composite Mapping of the Cores
This paper is part of a series that describes the Fibonacci icosagrid quasicrystal (FIG) and its relation to the E8 root lattice. The FIG was originally constructed to represent the intersection points of an icosahedrally symmetric collection of planar ...

Spontaneously broken spacetime symmetries and the role of inessential Goldstones
In contrast to internal symmetries, there is no general proof that the coset construction for spontaneously broken spacetime symmetries leads to universal dynamics.

Supersymmetric minisuperspace models in self-dual loop quantum cosmology
In this paper, we study a class of symmetry reduced models of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 super- gravity using self-dual variables. It is based on a particular Ansatz for the gravitino field as proposed by D’Eath et al. We show that the essential part of the

Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Probing gluon GTMDs through exclusive coherent diffractive processes
We extend a previous GTMD model to improve the description of the HERA data on diffractive dijet production, and include exclusive coherent diffractive $$J/\psi $$ J / ψ production data.

Modified gravity and coupled quintessence
The distinction between modified gravity and quintessence or dynamical dark energy is difficult. Many models of modified gravity are equivalent to models of coupled quintessence by virtue of variable transformations.

This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...

An algebraic classification of exceptional EFTs
We classify four-dimensional effective field theories (EFTs) with enhanced soft limits, which arise due to non-linearly realised symmetries on the Goldstone modes of such theories.

We recently proposed that topological quantum computing might be based on SL(2,C) representations of the fundamental group π1(S3\K) for the complement of a link K in the three-sphere.

Quantum Gravity: Has Spacetime Quantum Properties? [PDF]
The incompatibility between GR and QM is generally seen as a sufficient motivation for the development of a theory of Quantum Gravity. If - so a typical argumentation - QM gives a universally valid basis for the description of all natural systems, then ...
