Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Solubility examination of palm kernel oil in supercritical CO2 and its correlation with solvent density based model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Application of supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) to vegetable oil extraction became an attractive technique due to its high solubility, short extraction time and simple purification.

"Effect of p-aminosalicylic acid rare earth complex on aging resistance of natural rubber"

open access: yesHecheng xiangjiao gongye
Natural rubber (NR) vulcanizates were prepared using rare earth antioxidants, such as lanthanum aminosalicylate (PAS-La), cerium aminosalicylate (PAS-Ce), lanthanum and cerium aminosalicylate (PAS-La-Ce), and hindered phenolic antioxidant 2246 ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Technique of green mulch spreading

open access: yes, 2001
Finland’s policy of subsidising the conversion to organic production precipitated the rapid growth of organic farming in the 1990’s. As a consequence, many stockless farms encountered the problems of nitrogen deficit, poor grain quality, and weed control.

Sustainable Green Extraction of Carotenoid Pigments: Innovative Technologies and Bio-Based Solvents

open access: yes
Carotenoids are ubiquitous and versatile isoprenoid compounds. The intake of foods rich in these pigments is often associated with health benefits, attributable to the provitamin A activity of some of them and different mechanisms.

Quantitative evaluation on AlN transformation and volatilization of chlorides and fluorides in pyrometallurgical treatment for aluminum dross

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Reaction characteristics in pyrometallurgical treatment for aluminum dross were studied qualitatively and quantitatively by thermal analysis. The transformation of aluminum nitride (AlN), volatilization of chlorides and fluorides in two kinds of dross ...
