Mass Defects in Polyethylene and the Role of Mass Weighting in Phonon Green's Function Theory

physica status solidi (b), 1988
AbstractIn phonon Green's function theory two representations of the defect matrix operator are used, a frequency‐dependent and a frequency‐independent. Care has to be taken when changing from one definition to the other: Not all results are independent of the definition chosen.

Perturbation theory for Green’s functions as an effective mass formalism

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1977
A formal solution for Green’s functions of the type [∂2+m2+gV (x)]G (x,y) =δ (x−y) is presented which has the structure of an effective mass formalism. One first solves the free case [gV (x) =0] for given boundary conditions and then replaces the parameter m in the solution by a quantity depending on V (x).

Analysis of Acrylamide in Green Tea by Gas Chromatography−Mass Spectrometry

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2006
Optimization of the solid-phase extraction cleanup procedure enabled the GC-MS analysis of acrylamide in tea samples without the interference of bromination by tea catechins. Although polyvinylpolypyrrolidone (PVPP) is available for removing tea catechins from tea extract, the peaks derived from PVPP had the same retention time as brominated acrylamide

Mass Spawning by Green Algae on Coral Reefs

Science, 1997
Predawn episodes of mass spawning by green algae (up to nine species in five genera on a single morning) intermittently cloud Caribbean waters. Species- and sex-specific bouts of anisogamous gamete release occurred synchronously and predictably on a given morning, with closely related species spawning at different times.

Final Step to Green En Masse Financially

Journal of Applied Business and Economics
We make seven direct intra-brand comparisons between legacy carmakers’ electric vehicle (EV) and gas-powered vehicle who achieved top ten most-efficient electric vehicles in America. We find six out of the seven EVs will be able to breakeven the higher price relative to their gas counterparts within reasonable gas price range, electricity charge range,

Mass “Green” Digital Technologies in the Economy: The Future and the Present

2020
Purpose: The aim is to identify the current level of “green” digital technology diffusion in the economy, as well as to develop future scenarios and recommendations to ensure the mass availability of these technologies for an accelerated “green” digital economy.

Linking green management and mass customization

2012
The need to bridge mass customization (MC) with green management (GM) is starting to be recognized in literature. To date, this emerging discussion has been almost exclusively conceptual or simulation-based. To contribute to the empirical grounding of this discussion, we present the preliminary results of a longitudinal case study in a company faced ...

Nonisotropic Mass Transfer Model for Green Bean Drying

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1997
Two diffusional models were developed for finite cylindrical shaped bodies which take into account that mass transfer could have a nonisotropic nature. In the first model, sample shrinkage was ignored; thus, it was solved by the separation of variables method.

Complementary capabilities for green mass customization

2013
More and more firms today have to cope with the challenge of combining mass customization and green management, but research on green mass customization is still limited. To narrow this gap, we empirically investigate whether complementarities between organizational capabilities supporting mass customization (MCCs) and organizational capabilities ...
