Methanol Production Pathways in Nova Scotia: Opportunities and Challenges for Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage

open access: yesEnergies
Producing methanol through carbon capture and utilization presents a sustainable alternative to traditional methods. This study explores two main production pathways, which are further divided into four distinct scenarios.

Green methanol

open access: yes, 2023

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Mechanistic exploration of non-thermal plasma-enhanced Cu-catalyzed CO2 hydrogenation to methanol

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Combining CO2 and green hydrogen to produce methanol can simultaneously realize CO2 conversion and green hydrogen storage. Methanol can be used as a green low-carbon fuel or industrial platform product for large-scale application, which is of great ...

Interferon beta drives therapy resistance in a patient‐derived model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Interferon type 1 (IFN‐1) production and signaling is associated with the acquisition of therapy resistance, following chronic DNA damage, via Interferon‐related DNA damage resistance signature (IRDS) gene expression. An alternative, DNA damage‐independent role of sustained IFN‐1 mediated resistance was identified and characterized by the emergence of ...

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Prospects for the construction of a methanol pipeline transportation system from the perspective of multi-energy integration and revitalization of stock assets

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun
ObjectiveGiven the challenges of reverse distribution and inefficient high-carbon logistics for green methanol in China, coupled with the risk of idle and stranded assets in existing oil pipelines amid peak oil consumption, it is crucial to revitalize ...

Constituents of the Green Tea Seeds of

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2011
Green tea ( Camellia sinensis ) leaves are known to contain active ingredients such as catechins and caffeine, and are widely useful materials. Recently, green tea flowers also have been in the spotlight.

A feasible methanol economy for a green future

open access: yesGreen Chemistry
This study models a future methanol economy where combining biomass, biogas, and air-captured CO 2  achieves net-zero emissions at about 32 USD 2025  per person per month, close to Paris Agreement-aligned costs while delivering deeper emission cuts.
