White Mining’s Green Dream: Entropy and the mirage of sustainability in Northern Chile

open access: yesThe Extractive Industries and Society
This article critically examines the "green dream" of lithium mining in northern Chile, framing extraction as indispensable for addressing the climate crisis while obscuring its irreversible ecological, social, and epistemic consequences. Drawing on Bernard Stiegler's concept of Entropocene, we introduce the notion of entropic omissions to analyze how ...

A New Customizable Surfactant LLPS Strategy for Sustainable and Highly Efficient Radioactive Metal Ion Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A diluent‐free, customizable liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) platform enables highly efficient radioactive metal ion extraction and stripping. By encapsulating hydrophobic extractants into an ionic surfactant‐rich condensed phase, this LLPS system leverages synergistic electrostatic and coordination interactions.
