Food Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.Identification A. flavus and A. parasiticus was done as major aflatoxigenic contaminants in Italian pistachios, both capable of producing high levels of Aflatoxin B1. Development of a LAMP assay targeting the nor1 gene was done, showing high sensitivity (0.03 pg of DNA) and specificity, even detecting contamination as low as 0.5 spores/g.
