Orientation‐Dependent Phase Transformation Pathways Enabling Superior Superelastic and Elastocaloric Performance of NiTi Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating simulations and experiments, the preferred (001) crystallographic texture promotes reversible martensite formation through variant selection, enhancing both superelastic and elastocaloric performance. This work provides fundamental guidelines for designing high‐efficiency NiTi‐based functional materials. Abstract Developing elastocaloric

Are there Carbon Savings from US Biofuel Policies? Accounting for Leakage in Land and Fuel Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper applies the insights of the carbon leakage literature to study the emissions consequences of biofuel policies. We develop a simple analytic framework to decompose the intended emissions impacts of biofuel policy from four sources of carbon ...

Bidirectionally Thermochromic Nanocolloid System for on‐Demand Optical Switching and Agricultural Energy Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bidirectionally thermochromic nanocolloid system is developed for facility agriculture. The bidirectional and wide‐temperature response dynamically modulates light radiation, stabilizing the indoor climate, improving supplemental lighting efficiency, and accelerating plant photosynthesis.
