ABSTRACT Feature selection (FS) is a critical preprocessing approach for enhancing the quality of feature sets in various real‐world applications. Due to diverse relationships among features in high‐dimensional data sets, various features exhibit differing levels of importance and correlation with the target, which makes it challenging to effectively ...

For power transformers, the gas content in oil is used as the fault input feature quantity, and the accuracy of diagnosis results is not satisfactory. The problem of low accuracy of optimized extreme learning machine (ELM) of grey wolf optimization (GWO)

ABSTRACT The condition assessment of oil–paper insulation is critical for oil–immersed power transformers, which are fundamental to the reliability of modern power systems. The primary limitation of traditional transformer ageing assessment lies in its macroscopic, whole‐unit approach, which fails to account for the localised effects of nonuniform ...

Apex predators exploit advantageous snow conditions across hunting modes
Advantageous snow conditions—in terms of snow depth and density—are among the most important features of the winter landscape for two apex predators, regardless of hunting strategy. In a warming climate, the knock‐on effects of a diminishing snowpack may reduce the hunting success of multiple large carnivore species.

A Modified Grey Wolf Algorithm with Applications to Engineering [PDF]
In this contribution, a modified gray wolf algorithm for use in engineering applications is presented. The grey wolf algorithm is one of the meta-heuristic optimization methods that has recently been widely used by researchers due to its good ...

We highlight an overlooked pathway in ecosystem functioning: the role of animal carcass decomposition in trace element cycling. By linking animal life cycles to landscape‐scale processes, we explain how large animals redistribute scarce elements and influence spatial heterogeneity, with implications for ecosystem functioning and restoration.

A Grey Wolf Optimizer for Text Document Clustering
Abstract Text clustering problem (TCP) is a leading process in many key areas such as information retrieval, text mining, and natural language processing. This presents the need for a potent document clustering algorithm that can be used effectively to navigate, summarize, and arrange information to congregate large data sets.

Our study demonstrates that the benefits of parental coordination in albatrosses are context‐dependent rather than universal. Coordinated parental care enhanced reproductive success in stable environments, but had little effect in variable environments, where individual flexibility may be more valuable.
