Modeling and Predicting Grinding Force of the Grinding Process

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
A new method for predicting the grinding force is developed in this paper. The grinding forces model is build by divided it into cutting deformation force and sliding force and combine the undeformed chip thickness which assume the height of grits obey the Rayleigh distribution.

Modeling and analysis of grinding force in surface grinding

2011 IEEE International Conference on Computer Science and Automation Engineering, 2011
A new simple model of grinding force in surface grinding is proposed in this paper. The model is based on the fact that the grinding forces are composed of chip formation force and sliding force. The formula for calculating the tangential and normal grinding force per unit width is obtained based on the classical formulas.

Forces in refiners at grind of fibrous materials

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2022
Object of research of article are axial force at grind of fibrous materials taking into account unevenness of an inter bar gap between plates of rotor and stator of refiner. The mathematical model is developed for determination of axial force. Pilot studies showed adequacy to the developed mathematical model.

Grinding Forces and Grinding Energy in High Speed Grinding for Quenched Steel

Key Engineering Materials, 2009
Grinding experiments for quenched high-speed tool steel by resin bonded CBN (cubic boron nitride) wheel were conducted with a surface grinder. The grinding forces were measured under different grinding parameters. The effects of grinding parameters on grinding forces and grinding force ratio are discussed.

Grinding force modeling and experimental verification of rail grinding

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology, 2020
Many factors could affect the grinding force during rail grinding processes. Therefore, the grinding force modeling is necessary for predicting the grinding forces under different rail grinding parameter conditions. In this study, 3D models of grinding wheels were constructed based on the surface topographies of real grinding wheels.

Theoretical Model of Grinding Force in Quick-Point Grinding

Materials Science Forum, 2009
Separating the workpiece velocity on the plane of grinding wheel, it is helpful to analyze Quick-point grinding mechanism. There are some relations among wheel’s deflective angle, workpiece feed velocity and tangential velocity. In this research, the resultant workpiece speed, grinding contact zone and material removal mode is analyzed.

External grind-hardening experiments and its grinding force

Journal of Shanghai University (English Edition), 2009
The grind-hardening method suitable for external grinding is proposed in this paper and the experiments are carried out on M1432B grinding machine. The hardened layer of the workpiece with cut depth 0.3 mm and speed 0.2 m/min is analyzed. The result indicates the metallurgical structure of the hardened layer is martensite and the top hardness value is ...

Finite element analysis of influence of grinding parameters on grinding force

Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronic & Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, 2011
In this paper, based on the three-dimensional finite element model of surface grinding, the finite element analysis was employed to analyze the influence of grinding parameters on grinding force during the machining of SiCp/Al composites using diamond grinding wheel. The results indicate that model can reflect tendency of grinding force.
