Spectroscopy of high proper motion stars in the ground-based UV [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysics and Space Science, 2011
Based on high quality spectral data (spectral resolution R>60000) within the wavelength range of 3550-5000 AA we determined main parameters (effective temperature, surface gravity, microturbulent velocity, and chemical element abundances including heavy metals from Sr to Dy) for 14 metal-deficient G-K stars with large proper motions.

Theoretical ground for precursor-based molecular spectroscopy

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2021
A theory for excitation of molecular resonances by a train of precursors is developed. Right at the vacuum-medium interface, a train of incident square waves interacts with light electrons and is converted into a train of precursors, which further excite molecular dipoles.

Structure and spectroscopy of ground and excited states of LiYb [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2010
Multireference configuration interaction and coupled cluster calculations have been carried out to determine the potential energy curves for the ground and low-lying excited states of the LiYb molecule. The scalar relativistic effects have been included by means of the Douglas–Kroll Hamiltonian and effective core potential and the spin-orbit couplings ...

Nonlinear ground-state pump-probe spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2000
A theory of pump-probe spectroscopy is developed in which optical fields drive two-quantum, Raman-like transitions between ground state sublevels. Three fields are incident on an ensemble of atoms. Two of the fields act as the pump field for the two-quantum transitions.

First millimeter-wave spectroscopy of ground-state positronium [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, 2015
We report on the first measurement of the Breit-Wigner resonance of the transition from {\it ortho-}positronium to {\it para-}positronium. We have developed an optical system to accumulate a power of over 20 kW using a frequency-tunable gyrotron and a Fabry-Pérot cavity.

The Ground Based Leg for our ISO PNe: Spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1997
The Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) has to be regarded as the most powerful infrared facility that has ever been available to the astronomical community. In order to fully exploit the wealth of information contained in ISO data, one has to supplement the satellite observations with a ground-based campaign.

On the synergy between Ariel and ground-based high-resolution spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental Astronomy, 2022
AbstractSince the first discovery of an extra-solar planet around a main-sequence star, in 1995, the number of detected exoplanets has increased enormously. Over the past two decades, observational instruments (both onboard and on ground-based facilities) have revealed an astonishing diversity in planetary physical features (i. e. mass and radius), and
