Online Temperature Modeling in the Hangzone Sonnenberg, Zurich
Continuous measurements within the water distribution network of the Water Supply Zurich (WVZ) revealed surprisingly high water temperatures in different locations, especially during the summer months.

Although the thermal regime and degradation of permafrost on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP) have been widely documented, little information exists regarding the island permafrost in the area. Ground temperatures were therefore measured for 8 years (2013–

Estimating Snow Cover Duration from Ground Temperature
AbstractSnow cover duration is commonly derived from snow depth, snow water equivalent, or satellite data. Snow cover duration has more recently also been inferred from ground temperature data. In this study, a probabilistic snow cover duration (SCD) model is introduced that estimates the conditional probability for snow cover given the daily mean and ...

The Ground Temperature under Snow.
To find the mechanism of avalanches, the ground temperatures down to the depth S. Mwere measured by a self-registering electric resistance thermometer at a slope near Itayastation along Ou-line from January to March in 1948. Under snow the temperature of the ground surface rewained 0°C all through this interrol and those below the surface decreased ...

Establishment of Permafrost Thermal Monitoring Sites in East Siberia
Permafrost lies close to the surface of the day, therefore, it is able to quickly respond to modern climatic changes. Under these conditions, the goal of understanding the evolution of permafrost in the near future requires monitoring studies of the ...

On the influence of variability of snow cover parameters to the ground freezing
Depth and rate of the soil freezing are stronly determined by dynamics of snow accumulation during the first half of a cold season. Dynamics of snow accumulation over two periods (1966–2000 and 2001–2010) was analyzed using data of snow surveys performed

Ground temperature at shallow depth (< 50 m) is not stable, nor in space, neither in time, and its behaviour is the result of superimposition of effects of heat pulses of different origin: solar, geothermal and anthropic. The correct assessment of ground

Research on Temperature Field of Cement-Mixing Pile-Reinforced Soft Soil Foundation
To investigate the mechanism of reinforcing soft soil with cement-mixing pile, based on ABAQUS secondary development, a numerical simulation study of the hydration reaction of cement-mixing piles was conducted.

INFLUENCE OF SURFACE CONDITIONS ON GROUND TEMPERATURE
Ground temperatures were measured under two parking lots, one of which was cleared of snow in winter, and monthly and annual average surface temperatures were estimated by extrapolation. The surface temperatures were compared with monthly and annual surface and air temperatures measured at a nearby grassed site.
