Fractal analysis of quartz boundaries as a strain rate proxy for tracing Earth’s stress history

open access: yesScientific Reports
Understanding strain rates in naturally deformed rocks is crucial for reconstructing the tectonic history of orogenic belts. This study focuses on the Chahzar Thrust Zone, located within the Sanandaj-Sirjan metamorphic zone of southwestern Iran, an ideal

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Ground water

open access: yesEos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1971
The demand for ground water has continued to increase during the period 1967–1970. An estimated 500,000 wells of all types are being drilled each year, further, as available surface water resources become increasingly more fully used, ground water represents an increasingly greater percentage of the total water resource being used.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
