Stepped-Impedance Defected Ground Structure

TENCON 2005 - 2005 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2005
The negative image of a microstrip stepped-impedance lowpass filter (LPF) or hi-Z, low-Z filter is used on the ground plane to produce wide and deep stopband. This structure is simpler in design and more compact in size compared to conventional bandstop structures.

A grounded gyrator based on the impedance-matrix†

International Journal of Electronics, 1971
Abstract An appropriately chosen controlled-source, in association with a current-controlled negative resistance, can be used to produce a grounded, high Q, impedance-matrix realization of the gyrator. Details of one such realization are given here.

Transient Ground Impedances According to Shapes of Grounding Electrodes

Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, 2006
This paper presents the transient behaviors of grounding system impedance against lightning impulse currents. The dynamic characteristics of the deeply driven ground rod and grounding grid subjected to the impulse current were investigated. The transient ground impedance strongly depends on the configuration and size of grounding electrodes and the ...

Optimized geometry for ground impedance measurement

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2007
The two-microphone method is a convenient and well-known procedure for the in situ determination of the surface impedance both in room acoustics and for outdoor use. In light of its possible use in a future revision of ANSI S1.18-1999, its sensitivity towards measurement errors has been investigated.

The mutual impedance of collinear grounded wires

Geophysics, 1943
Abstract The formula of R. M. Foster for the mutual impedance of grounded wires lying on the surface of the earth has been evaluated for the case where the wires are grounded at points which are collinear and equally spaced upon the surface of a homogeneous earth.

Impedance models for grass-covered ground

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1977
Three different models are described in an attempt to account for the frequency dependence of measured impedances of grass-covered ground. These are (a) a homogeneous ground of constant porosity, (b) a finite layer, also of constant porosity, overlying an infinite impedance, and (c) porosity decreasing with depth. The latter structure provides the best

Analysis of Grounding Electrode Input Impedance Calculation

2011
The paper deals with an assessment of transient impedance of the grounding electrode. The mathematical model is based on the thin wire antenna theory and related Pocklington integro- differential equation in the frequency domain, which is numerically treated via Galerkin-Bubnov variant of indirect Boundary Element Method (GB- IBEM).
