Computation of Homology Groups and Generators [PDF]

open access: yesComputers & Graphics, 2005
Topological invariants are extremely useful in many applications related to digital imaging and geometric modeling, and homology is a classical one, which has not yet been fully explored in image applications. We present an algorithm that computes the whole homology of an object of arbitrary dimension: Betti numbers, torsion coefficients and generators.

On Homology Groups of a Subspace of Triangulations of the Two-Simplex with not More than 6 Subdivisional Boundary Vertices

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2013
We study homology groups of the space W˜₁(∇N ) of triangulations of the twodimensional simplex with vertices D₀D₁D₂ endowed with a boundary subdivision with not more than 6 vertices in case when this boundary subdivision is extended to the interior of ...

FREE FINITE GROUP ACTIONS ON RATIONAL HOMOLOGY 3-SPHERES

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2019
We use methods from the cohomology of groups to describe the finite groups which can act freely and homologically trivially on closed 3-manifolds which are rational homology spheres.

New Proposal of Setal Homology in Schizomida and Revision of Surazomus (Hubbardiidae) from Ecuador. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The homology of three somatic systems in Schizomida is studied yielding the following results: (1) proposal of homology and chaetotaxy of abdominal setae in Surazomus; (2) revision of the cheliceral chaetotaxy in Schizomida, with suggestion of new ...

Chromosomal homology of Uraeotyphlus oxyurus group of species (Amphibia, Gymnophiona, Ichthyophiidae)

open access: yesComparative Cytogenetics, 2013
Uraeotyphlus oxyurus (Dumeril et Bibron, 1841), U. interruptus Pillai et Ravichandran, 1999, U. narayani Seshachar, 1939 and U. menoni Annandale, 1913 were cytogenetically analysed following conventional and differential staining techniques.

Knot concordance and homology sphere groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We study two homomorphisms to the rational homology sphere group. If $\psi$ denotes the inclusion homomorphism from the integral homology sphere group, then using work of Lisca we show that the image of $\psi$ intersects trivially with the subgroup of ...

A Spatiotemporal Brain Network Analysis of Alzheimer’s Disease Based on Persistent Homology

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2022
Current brain network studies based on persistent homology mainly focus on the spatial evolution over multiple spatial scales, and there is little research on the evolution of a spatiotemporal brain network of Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

Human Proteinase 3, an important autoantigen of c-ANCA associated vasculitis, shares cross-reactive epitopes with serine protease allergens from mites: an in silico analysis [version 2; peer review: 1 approved, 2 approved with reservations]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2022
Background: In autoimmune vasculitis, autoantibodies to Human Proteinase 3 (PR3), a human serine protease, seems to have a role on the inception of c-ANCA associated vasculitis. The origin of this autoreactive response remains unclear.

Homology in Varieties of Groups. III [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1971
The study of (co-) homology groups Z,3(HX A), SnI3(H, A), 3 a variety, 11 a group in 3, and A a suitable 11-module, is pursued. They are compared with a certain Tor and Ext. The definition of the homology of an epimorphism due to Rinehart is shown to agree with that due to Barr and Beck (whenever both are defined).
