Filtered instanton Floer homology and the homology cobordism group
For any $s \in [-\infty, 0] $ and oriented homology 3-sphere $Y$, we introduce a homology cobordism invariant $r_s(Y)\in (0,\infty]$. The values $\{r_s(Y)\}$ are included in the critical values of the $SU(2)$-Chern-Simons functional of $Y$, and we show a

Group homology and extensions of groups [PDF]
The main result of the paper is a formula for the homology of a group \(\Pi\) with coefficients in a field of characteristic zero, as an inverse limit of a functor on the category of group extensions of \(\Pi\). The authors mention that analogs of some of the results may hold with integer coefficients.

The mod 2 Margolis homology of the Dickson algebra
We completely compute the mod 2 Margolis homology of the Dickson algebra $D_n$, i.e. the homology of $D_n$ with the differential to be the Milnor operation $Q_j$, for every $n$ and $j$.

Morphological homology, evolution, and proposed nomenclature for bear dentition [PDF]
Bears are a group of carnivores with diverse diets and complicated dental structure. Several large rearrangements of dental structures are known in different lineages of bears, making the homology of dental structures between the different bears ...

Homology fibrations and "group-completion" revisited
We give a proof of the Jardine-Tillmann generalized group completion theorem. It is much in the spirit of the original homology fibration approach by McDuff and Segal, but follows a modern treatment of homotopy colimits, using as little simplicial ...

A primer on computational group homology and cohomology [PDF]
These are expanded lecture notes of a series of expository talks surveying basic aspects of group cohomology and homology. They were written for someone who has had a first course in graduate algebra but no background in cohomology.

Periods for holomorphic maps via Lefschetz numbers
We characterise the set of fixed points of a class of holomorphic maps on complex manifolds with a prescribed homology. Our main tool is the Lefschetz number and the action of maps on the first homology group.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Homology of the curve complex and the Steinberg module of the mapping class group
By the work of Harer, the reduced homology of the complex of curves is a fundamental cohomological object associated to all torsion free finite index subgroups of the mapping class group.

Pirashvili–Richter-type theorems for the reflexive and dihedral homology theories
Reflexive homology and dihedral homology are the homology theories associated to the reflexive and dihedral crossed simplicial groups respectively. The former has recently been shown to capture interesting information about $C_2$-equivariant homotopy ...
