Trends in Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1992The benefits of growth hormone (GH) replacement therapy of adults are currently being evaluated, and initial results indicate that 4 or 6 months of GH therapy alter body composition, with an increase in muscle and a decrease in adipose tissue mass. It remains to be determined whether this treatment substantially improves function.
