Introduction Premature arrest of bone growth is the most common complication of bone fractures at the growth plate level. The purpose of the work was to evaluate the structural reorganization of metaepiphyseal cartilage following its direct injury ...

Monogenic causes of familial short stature
Genetic factors play a crucial role in determining human height. Short stature commonly affects multiple family members and therefore, familial short stature (FSS) represents a significant proportion of growth disorders. Traditionally, FSS was considered

Room temperature crack growth rates and -20 deg F fracture toughness of welded 1 1/4 inch A-285 steel plate [PDF]
Data are presented which were developed in support of a structural assessment of NASA-LEWIS' 10-foot by 10-foot supersonic wind tunnel, critical portions of which are fabricated from rolled and welded 1 1/4 inch thick A-285 steel plate. Test material was

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Leading-edge receptivity to a vortical freestream disturbance: A numerical analysis [PDF]
The receptivity to freestream vorticity of the boundary layer over a flat plate with an elliptic leading edge is investigated numerically. The flow is simulated by solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes system in general curvilinear coordinates with ...
