Immunoreactive GRP

Peptides, 1981
Radioimmunoassay specific for GRP was developed using C-terminal specific anti-synthetic porcine GRP sera. Measurement of the porcine gastrointestine and brain tissue extracts with GRP and with bombesin radioimmunoassays indicates that the bombesin-like immunoreactivity found in the porcine tissues is attributable to GRP or GRP-like materials. GRP-like

Functorial reducing pro⁎-Grp category to pro-Grp

Topology and its Applications, 2019
We introduce a new functor R from pro*-Grp to pro- Grp and use it to give a new characterisation of coarse shape groups. The Hurewicz theorem in a new context is proposed. We complete with a corollary stating isomorphicity of the first nontrivial coarse shape group and coarse shape homology group of a pointed continuum, assertion that does not hold for

Oligodendrocytes, GRPs and MNOPs

Trends in Neurosciences, 2003
What about earlier stages? At developmental stages earlier than E16, expression of Olig1 and Olig2 is limited to a large ventral domain of the proliferating ventricular zone that is known to generate both motoneurons and oligodendrocytes. If Olig2 expression is confined to an oligodendrocyte–motoneuron precursor, then its expression should not be seen ...

Microcrocking in GRP

Physics Bulletin, 1976
Glass fibre reinforced plastics (GRP) are used as structural materials in the building, engineering and aerospace industries where strong but lightweight products are needed. A major problem with high performance composites, made of aligned continuous fibres, is that they are prone to microcracking at strains much lower than the failure strain of the ...

Hindbrain GRP receptor blockade antagonizes feeding suppression by peripherally administered GRP

American Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, 1996
Bombesin (BN)-like peptides injected peripherally or centrally suppress food intake in rats. The relationship between the central and peripheral actions of BN is unknown. However, experimental evidence supports a critical role for the caudal hindbrain in mediating the feeding effects of BN.

GRP nerves in pig antrum: role of GRP in vagal control of gastrin secretion

American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1987
We extracted gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) and its C-terminal decapeptide corresponding to 6.4 and 6.8 pmol/g from pig antrum mucosa. By immunohistochemistry GRP was localized to mucosal, submucosal, and myenteric nerve fibers. A few nerve cell bodies were also identified.
