Effect of Thionation of the Carbonyl Groups in Naphthalimide-Phenoxazine Electron Donor-Acceptor Dyads on the Excited- State Dynamics: Transient Optical and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectral Studies. [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry
Thionation: Enhanced SOC and Unusually Large ZFS Parameters: Thionated electron donor–acceptor dyads based on naphthalimide (NI) and phenoxazine (PXZ) were prepared and the photophysical properties were studied. Fluorescence quenching and efficient intersystem crossing (ISC) were observed for the dyad with the NI unit thionated.

Stagonosporopsis cucurbitacearum Effector Protein ScAA9 Contributes to Virulence and Triggers Plant Immune Responses. [PDF]

open access: yesMol Plant Pathol
The AA9 family protein ScAA9 of Stagonosporopsis cucurbitacearum plays dual roles as both a virulence factor for infection and a PAMP for host immune manipulation, highlighting the complexity of S. cucurbitacearum–host interactions. ABSTRACT Fungal pathogens secrete cell wall‐degrading enzymes that either act as virulence factors or are perceived by ...

Au42(PET)32 Nanocluster Sensitizer Unlocks the Annihilator Potential of Rubrene, Enabling High‐Performance NIR‐to‐Visible Photon Upconversion

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 13, 23 March 2026.
A needle‐shaped gold nanocluster, Au42(PET)32, serves as a powerful triplet sensitizer, enabling rubrene to fully express its intrinsic annihilator capability (spin statistical factor f = 0.58). This sensitizer–annihilator pair achieves record‐high upconversion internal quantum yields of 21.4% (808 nm excitation) and 15.0% (936 nm excitation ...
