GSH Depletion-Induced Activation of Dimersomes for Potentiating the Ferroptosis and Immunotherapy of "Cold" Tumor.

Angewandte Chemie, 2022
The abundant glutathione (GSH) in "cold" tumors weakens the ferroptosis therapy and the immune response. Herein, inspired by lipids, we fabricated cinnamaldehyde dimers (CDC) into lipid-like materials to form dimersomes capable of depleting GSH and ...

GSH‐Responsive Radiosensitizers with Deep Penetration Ability for Multimodal Imaging‐Guided Synergistic Radio‐Chemodynamic Cancer Therapy

Advanced Functional Materials, 2021
Radiotherapy (RT) utilizes the non‐invasive and high penetration X‐ray as the energy source to eliminate deep‐seated tumors. The efficacy of RT can be optimized by designing effective radiosensitizers and synergizing with other treatment methods ...

Platinum Crosslinked Carbon Dot@TiO2- x p-n Junctions for Relapse-Free Sonodynamic Tumor Eradication via High-Yield ROS and GSH Depletion.

Small, 2021
Sonodynamic therapy as a promising noninvasive modality is being developed for tumor therapy, but there is a lack of next-generation sonosensitizers that can generate full ROS at high yields and simultaneously deplete elevated levels of glutathione (GSH)

Functionalized Tumor-Targeting Nanosheets Exhibiting Fe(II) Overloading and GSH Consumption for Ferroptosis Activation in Liver Tumor.

Small, 2021
Liver tumor is difficult to cure for its high degree of malignancy and rapid progression characteristics. Ferroptosis as a new model of inducing cell death is expected to break the treatment bottleneck of liver tumors.

Modulation of endothelial GSH concentrations: effect of exogenous GSH and GSH monoethyl ester

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1989
We studied the effects of exogenous glutathione (GSH) and GSH monoethyl ester (GSH-MEE) on the enhancement of endothelial GSH concentrations. The preparation of GSH-MEE used contained 91% GSH-MEE, approximately 9% GSH diethyl ester (GSH-DEE) and a trace amount of GSH.

Fusiform-Like Copper(II) Based Metal-Organic Framework through Relief Hypoxia and GSH-Depletion Co-Enhanced Starvation and Chemodynamic Synergetic Cancer Therapy.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2020
The therapeutic effect of tradition chemodynamic therapy (CDT) agents is severely restricted by the weakly acidic pH and glutathione (GSH) overexpression in the tumor microenvironment (TME).

Breaking the Redox Homeostasis: an Albumin‐Based Multifunctional Nanoagent for GSH Depletion‐Assisted Chemo‐/Chemodynamic Combination Therapy

Advanced Functional Materials, 2021
Redox homeostasis is vital for cell survival. Nowadays, developing novel nanoagents that can efficiently break the redox homeostasis, which includes improving the reactive oxygen species level while reducing the glutathione (GSH) level, has emerged as a ...

GSH‐Depleted PtCu3 Nanocages for Chemodynamic‐ Enhanced Sonodynamic Cancer Therapy

Advanced Functional Materials, 2019
The ultrahigh concentration of glutathione (GSH) inside tumors destroys reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐based therapy, improving the outcome of chemodynamic therapy (CDT)‐enhanced sonodynamic therapy (SDT) by depleting GSH is full of great challenge ...

GSH and H2O2 Co-Activatable Mitochondria-Targeted Photodynamic Therapy under Normoxia and Hypoxia.

Angewandte Chemie, 2020
Currently, photosensitizers (PSs) that are microenvironment responsive and hypoxia active are scarcely available and urgently desired for antitumor photodynamic therapy (PDT).

GSH‐Depleted Nanozymes with Dual‐Radicals Enzyme Activities for Tumor Synergic Therapy

Advanced Functional Materials, 2021
Although inspiring progress has been achieved in tumor nanocatalytic therapies based on tailor‐made nanozymes for converting hydrogen peroxide into reactive oxygen species (ROS) efficiently, most cytotoxic hydroxyl radicals do not spread far enough ...
