Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Overcoming Photodynamic Therapy Resistance: GSH‐Responsive AIE Photosensitizer‐Hydroxycamptothecin Nanoliposomes for Extrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A GSH‐responsive AIE nanoplatform (TSH NPs) with RGD‐mediated tumor targeting co‐delivers a photosensitizer (TPA) and HCPT for extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The system synergistically enhances PDT and chemotherapy by suppressing HIF‐1α/VEGF‐driven hypoxic adaptation, effectively overcoming PDT resistance.

The kinetics of oxidation of GSH by protein radicals [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 2005
Current studies provide evidence that proteins are initial targets of ROS (reactive oxygen species) in biological systems and that the damaged proteins can in turn damage other cell constituents. This study was designed to test the possibility that protein radicals generated by ROS can oxidize GSH and assess the probability of this reaction in vivo by ...
