Dual Targeting of Tau Kinases and Autophagy by Abemaciclib Independent of CDK4/6 Inhibition
Abemaciclib rescues cognitive function and attenuates tau pathology in Alzheimer's disease models, but not through its known cancer‐fighting mechanism. This study demonstrates that abemaciclib operates independently of CDK4/6 inhibition, instead directly targeting tau kinases CaMKII and GSK3β while simultaneously promoting autophagic clearance of ...

A Thermodynamic-Based Interpretation of Protein Expression Heterogeneity in Different Glioblastoma Multiforme Tumors Identifies Tumor-Specific Unbalanced Processes [PDF]
We describe a thermodynamic-motivated, information theoretic analysis of proteomic data collected from a series of 8 glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tumors. GBMs are considered here as prototypes of heterogeneous cancers.

It has been demonstrated that, in the bone extracellular matrix (ECM), integrins and growth factor receptors (GFRs) engage in synergistic signaling to guide bone healing and regeneration. This review provides a comprehensive overview of current strategies using ECM‐derived peptides to recreate the cellular microenvironment and harness synergistic ...

HS3ST2 expression is critical for the abnormal phosphorylation of tau in Alzheimer's disease-related tau pathology [PDF]
Heparan sulphate (glucosamine) 3-O-sulphotransferase 2 (HS3ST2, also known as 3OST2) is an enzyme predominantly expressed in neurons wherein it generates rare 3-O-sulphated domains of unknown functions in heparan sulphates.

This study identifies ferritin as a pivotal mediator of silica‐induced pulmonary fibrosis. Macrophage‐derived ferritin drives fibroblast‐to‐myofibroblast differentiation via the PIK3R2/SMAD pathway, while ferritin knockdown alleviates fibrosis. These findings define ferritin as both a biomarker and pathogenic driver, highlighting ferritin‐PIK3R2 ...

Cytoplasmic RNF32 fuels CRC liver metastasis by degrading GSK3β, which stabilizes β‐catenin and activates Wnt/EMT. Moreover, RNF32 rewires the metastatic niche: it depletes CD8+/CD4+ T and NK cells while recruiting SPP1+ macrophages (which boost tumor stemness via CD44), fibroblasts, and immunosuppressive monocytes to aid colonization.

FAK activity sustains intrinsic and acquired ovarian cancer resistance to platinum chemotherapy. [PDF]
Gene copy number alterations, tumor cell stemness, and the development of platinum chemotherapy resistance contribute to high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) recurrence.
