FoxO1 Responses to Chronic Oxidative Stress to Participate in Age‐Related Osteoporosis by Depriving β‐Catenin From TCF7

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
Chronic oxidative stress caused by MACF1 deficiency leads to a functional switch in osteoblasts from “osteogenic differentiation” to “antioxidation.” FoxO1 responds to oxidative stress by altering the destination of β‐catenin and disrupting the balance of the FoxO1/β‐catenin–Wnt/β‐catenin pathway, thereby inhibiting osteoblast differentiation ...

PBX1 Improves Cognition and Reduces Amyloid‐β Pathology in APP/PS1 Mice by Transcriptionally Activating the CRTC2–CREB Pathway

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
We found that the transcription factor PBX1 is markedly downregulated in patients with Alzheimer's disease and in disease models. Restoring PBX1 reduces Aβ pathology and rescues cognitive deficits. Mechanistically, PBX1 directly activates the transcription of CRTC2 and enhances p‐CREB signaling, thereby conferring neuroprotection.

NRF2 signalling in cytoprotection and metabolism

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 1, Page 101-114, January 2026.
The KEAP1‐NRF2 system plays a central role in cytoprotection in defence mechanisms against oxidative stress. The KEAP1‐NRF2 system has been regarded as a sulfur‐utilizing cytoprotective mechanism, because KEAP1 serves as a biosensor for electrophiles by using its reactive thiols and NRF2 is a transcriptional factor regulating genes involved in sulfur ...

Prognostic Biomarker of Fertility‐Preserving Hormonal Therapy Based on Multigene Panel Testing for Endometrial Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 1, Page 236-245, January 2026.
We identified prognostic biomarkers that predict treatment outcomes in patients receiving fertility‐preserving high‐dose medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) therapy through comprehensive multigene panel testing. ABSTRACT In this study, we identified prognostic biomarkers that predict treatment outcome in patients receiving fertility‐preserving high‐dose ...

Extracellular Vesicle‐Derived microRNAs as Fluid Biomarkers in Neurodegenerative Diseases: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 1, January 2026.
Given the absence of curative treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, early detection and therapeutic intervention are critical to slowing disease progression. The last decade has seen accumulating evidence for microRNA dysregulation in circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs); however, assessing reproducibility between studies remains challenging ...

Dissociation of the mTOR Protein Interaction Network Following Neuronal Activation Is Altered by Shank3 Mutation

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 1, January 2026.
Neurons encode activity through precise, stimulus‐dependent rearrangements of protein interaction networks, including the mTOR signaling cascade. Using multiplex co‐immunoprecipitation in primary cortical neurons, we show that IGF1, glutamate, and homeostatic up‐ or down‐scaling with Tetrodotoxin (TTX) or Bicuculline (BIC), respectively, each induce ...
