CD28 and the Tyrosine Kinase Lck Stimulate Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Activity in T Cells via Inhibition of the Small G Protein Rap1

open access: yes, 2000
Proliferation of T cells via activation of the T-cell receptor (TCR) requires concurrent engagement of accessory costimulatory molecules to achieve full activation.

Biomechanical Phenotyping Reveals Unique Mechanobiological Signatures of Early‐Onset Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a unique physical signature of colorectal cancer in younger adults: their tissues are mechanically stiffer than those in older patients with the same cancer. Furthermore, stromal remodeling in early‐onset colorectal cancer promotes epithelial mechanotransduction and proliferation, showing how mechanical alterations in the tissue ...

Sdd3 regulates the biofilm formation of Candida albicans via the Rho1-PKC-MAPK pathway

open access: yesmBio
Candida albicans, the most frequently isolated fungal pathogen in humans, forms biofilms that enhance resistance to antifungal drugs and host immunity, leading to frequent treatment failure.

Targeting G3BP1 Condensate Topology Promotes Stress Granule Assembly via m6A‐IGF2BP1 for Ischemic Stroke Rescue

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our research reveals that small‐molecule icariin (ICA) directly binds Ras‐GTPase‐activating protein SH3 domain‐binding protein 1 (G3BP1), inducing conformational change and oligomerization. This interaction confers neuroprotection by recruiting insulin‐like growth factor 2 mRNA‐binding protein 1 (IGF2BP1) and modulating N6‐methyladenosine (m6A ...

A report on rosuvastatin’s role in alleviating behavioral problems in autism spectrum disorder with a SYNaptic GTPase-Activating Protein 1 mutation

open access: yesArchives of Mental Health
SYNaptic GTPase-Activating Protein 1 (SYNGAP1) is a gene that encodes the cytosolic protein SYNGAP1, an essential component of the postsynaptic density at excitatory glutamatergic neurons.

Chloroplast Stress Signals Orchestrate Epidermis‐Specific Remodeling of Mitochondria and ER Under High Light

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High light exposure triggers an epidermis‐specific remodeling of mitochondria and ER in Arabidopsis, driven by chloroplast‐derived signals. Live‐cell imaging shows that HL rapidly suppresses mitochondrial motility, followed by fusion‐driven elongation and ER cisternal expansion.

Malignant progression of liver cancer progenitors requires lysine acetyltransferase 7–acetylated and cytoplasm‐translocated G protein GαS

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
KAT7‐acetylated and cytoplasm‐translocated G‐protein GαS enhances IL‐6 effect and drives HCC progenitor cell progression. Abstract Background and Aims Hepatocarcinogenesis goes through HCC progenitor cells (HcPCs) to fully established HCC, and the mechanisms driving the development of HcPCs are still largely unknown.
