Exome sequencing identifies a novel mutation of the GDI1 gene in a Chinese non-syndromic X-linked intellectual disability family

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2017
X-linked intellectual disability (XLID) has been associated with various genes. Diagnosis of XLID, especially for non-syndromic ones (NS-XLID), is often hampered by the heterogeneity of this disease.

Targeted LC-MS profiling reveals dysregulated glycolytic flux and TCA cycle stalling in POAG plasma

open access: yesScientific Reports
Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness. Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is the most common form globally and has been linked to mitochondrial dysfunction and energy deficiency.

Chemical Synthesis of Guanosine Diphosphate Mannose (GDPM)

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1959
Guanosine diphosphate mannose (GDPM), coenzyme of mannose polymerization, was chemically synthesized. GMP and cyclohexylamine were condensed to form N-cyclohexylphosphoramidate in the presence of DCC. The amidate (III) was reacted with benzyl hydrogen phosphate and after hydrogenation led to GDP (V).

Detection and characterisation of NAD(P)H-diaphorase activity in Dictyostelium discoideum cells (Protozoa)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry, 2012
In Dictyostelium discoideum (D. discoideum), compounds generating nitric oxide (NO) inhibit its aggregation and differentiation without altering cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) production.

Versatile enzymatic system for the production of guanosine polyphosphates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Posters - ED02 Signalling and systems biology: abstract no. ED02/20During periods of environmental stress, bacteria synthesize guanosine tetraphosphate (ppGpp, magic spot I) and guanosine pentaphosphate (pppGpp, magic spot II) in a process known as the ...

Hydrogen bonding, spectroscopic (FT-IR and FT-Raman), UV−Vis, and Mulliken charge analysis of Guanosine-5′ -Diphosphate: insight from DFT and molecular docking

open access: yesBibechana
Hybrid functional B3LYP has been used for quantum chemical calculation of Guanosine-5′ -Diphosphate (GDP) from DFT approach. The intra-molecular hydrogen bonding in the title molecule was rendered from Quantum theory of atoms in molecule (QTAIM).

5'-nucleotidases, nucleosides and their distribution in the brain: pathological and therapeutic implications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Elements of the nucleoside system (nucleoside levels, 5'-nucleotidases (5'NTs) and other nucleoside metabolic enzymes, nucleoside transporters and nucleoside receptors) are unevenly distributed in the brain, suggesting that nucleosides have region ...

Template-directed biopolymerization: tape-copying Turing machines

open access: yes, 2012
DNA, RNA and proteins are among the most important macromolecules in a living cell. These molecules are polymerized by molecular machines. These natural nano-machines polymerize such macromolecules, adding one monomer at a time, using another linear ...
