X band Gunn oscillators triggered by baseband Gunn diodes
A 155 μm-long Gunn diode produces output pulses of 1.5 V amplitude in resistive loading. These pulses are used to trigger a transistor multivibrator and an X band Gunn oscillator.

The influence of Gunn diode nonlinear impedance on microwave oscillators operation
Theoretical and experimental investigations of nonlinear Gunn diode microwave oscillators behavior were carried out. Possibility of chaotic oscillation appearance with increasing applied voltage in the voltage region high above the threshold is shown.

Pulsed Gunn-diode oscillator: 40 W at 16 GHz
Very high peak power levels at microwave frequencies can be generated from several semiconductor devices (Gunn diodes, l.s.a. mode devices, TRAPATTs, etc.), but some of these devices are only a little removed from laboratory devices, and are limited in frequency.
