Proficiency testing of inorganic gunshot residue analysis for laboratory performance assessment
In forensic examination, inorganic gunshot residue (iGSR) can potentially refer to the act of shooting from a person and become value case evidence. The iGSR analysis is performed by the detection of particles containing antimony (Sb), barium (Ba), or ...

On the formation of Basu's Type III (peeled orange) gunshot residues
In a famous paper published in 1982, a very special class of gunshot residue particles (GSR) was named by Samarendra Basu “peeled orange”, due to their particular structure, consisting of a barium/antimony core covered by an outer lead leaflet.

Habitat Features, Coyotes, and Humans Drive Diel Activity Variation Among Sympatric Mammals
We found that multiple mammal species show considerable variation in diel activity in response to several factors, with biotic variables (habitat features and the presence of coyotes Canis latrans) having the strongest overall effects. Our results have important implications for trophic dynamics. Future studies will need to account for these underlying

Forensic exspertise of gunshot residues [PDF]
Gunshot residues originate from the discharge of firearms. It comprises gunpowder and primer residues and metallic residues from projectiles. When the firing pin of a gun strikes the primer cap of the bullet, a rapid high-temperature reaction of the primer mix takes place. GSR particles originating from primers are considered in this paper.
