A review of the pathogenesis of epilepsy based on the microbiota-gut-brain-axis theory
The pathogenesis of epilepsy is related to the microbiota-gut-brain axis, but the mechanism has not been clarified. The microbiota-gut-brain axis is divided into the microbiota-gut-brain axis (upward pathways) and the brain-gut-microbiota axis (downward ...

Microplastics (MPs) breach the gut‐brain axis by triggering taurine‐depleting microbiota dysbiosis that accelerates Alzheimer‐like pathology in 5XFAD mice. Taurine supplementation normalizes autophagy, microglial quiescence, and cognition, and plasma taurine inversely tracks cognitive decline in ADNI participants, revealing a readily translatable ...

Dysregulated microbiota-gut-brain axis
Purpose This paper aims to summarize the available literatures, specifically in the following areas: metabolic and other side effects of aspartame; microbiota changes/dysbiosis and its effect on the gut-brain axis; changes on gut microbiota as a result ...

Multi‐Targeting Carnosic Acid Kills Drug‐Resistant Helicobacter pylori With Narrow‐Spectrum Activity
Carnosic acid selectively eradicates drug‐resistant Helicobacter pylori through a multi‐targeted mechanism involving urease inhibition, membrane disruption, and biofilm eradication. It exhibits no detectable resistance, potent in vivo efficacy, and minimal impact on gut microbiota, positioning it as a promising narrow‐spectrum lead compound against ...

The Mycobiome: A Neglected Component in the Microbiota-Gut-Brain Axis
In recent years, the gut microbiota has been considered as a full-fledged actor of the gut–brain axis, making it possible to take a new step in understanding the pathophysiology of both neurological and psychiatric diseases.

Cholesterol‐enriched plasma membranes in hepatocellular carcinoma impede drug penetration. Cholesterol (+)‐liposomes act as membrane‐specific detergents, extracting cholesterol and reducing barrier function without cytotoxicity. Following endocytosis, cholesterol transfers from endosomes to liposomes and is metabolized in the ER.
