Fiber-Optic-Gyroscope Measurements Close to Rotating Liquid Helium

open access: yes, 2009
We previously reported anomalous fiber-optic gyroscope signals observed above rotating rings at temperatures close to liquid helium. Our results suggested that the liquid helium itself may be the source of our observed phenomenon.

The Frenet Serret Description of Gyroscopic Precession [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The phenomenon of gyroscopic precession is studied within the framework of Frenet-Serret formalism adapted to quasi-Killing trajectories. Its relation to the congruence vorticity is highlighted with particular reference to the irrotational congruence ...

Tissue Engineered Human Elastic Cartilage From Primary Auricular Chondrocytes for Ear Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Despite over three decades of research, no tissue‐engineered solution for auricular reconstruction in microtia patients has reached clinical translation. The key challenge lies in generating functional elastic cartilage ex vivo. Here, we integrate synergistic cell‐biomaterial strategies to engineer auricular grafts with mechanical and histological ...
