J-PLUS: Spectroscopic validation of Hα emission line maps in spatially resolved galaxies
Aims. We present a dedicated automated pipeline to construct spatially resolved emission Hα+[NII] maps and to derive the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) in 12 optical filters (five broad and seven narrow and medium) of Hα emission line regions in nearby galaxies (z < 0.0165) observed by the Javalambre Photometric Local Universe Survey (J-PLUS).

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

21 cm Signal from the Thermal Evolution of Lyα during Cosmic Dawn
The Ly α photons couple the spin temperature of neutral hydrogen (H I ) to the kinetic temperature during the era of cosmic dawn (CD). During this process, they also exchange energy with the medium, heating and cooling the H I .

H-alpha Emission Variability in the gamma-ray Binary LS I +61 303
LS I +61 303 is an exceptionally rare example of a high mass X-ray binary (HMXB) that also exhibits MeV-TeV emission, making it one of only a handful of "gamma-ray binaries".

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

WALLABY Pilot Survey and ASymba: Comparing H i Detection Asymmetries to the SIMBA Simulation
An avenue for understanding cosmological galaxy formation is to compare morphometric parameters in observations and simulations of galaxy assembly. In this second paper of the ASymba: Asymmetries of H i in SIMBA Galaxies series, we measure atomic gas (H ...

Circumnuclear ionized gas in starburst nuclei [PDF]
In order to study kinematical properties of starburst nuclei (SBNs), researchers made high-resolution spectroscopy of fifteen SBNs in the H alpha region using an intensified Reticon system attached to the coude focus of the 188-cm reflector at the ...

IGRINS spectroscopy of Class I sources: IRAS 03445+3242 and IRAS 04239+2436
We have detected molecular and atomic line emission from the hot and warm disks of two Class I sources, IRAS 03445+3242 and IRAS 04239+2436 using the high resolution Immersion GRating INfrared Spectrograph (IGRINS).

This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.
