Sodium Alginate‐Based Submucosal Lifting Hydrogel for Endoscopic Mucosal Resection and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A biocompatible sodium alginate‐based hydrogel is developed as a next‐generation submucosal lifting agent intended for EMR and ESD. The optimized formulation exhibits a composition devoid of endotoxins, high viscosity, demonstrates reliable injectability, and ensures prolonged mucosal elevation.

Bioinspired Adaptive Surfaces for Intelligent Liquid Manipulation: Progressing From Passive and Active to Hybrid Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines passive, active, and hybrid liquid manipulation strategies, highlighting hybrid approaches as an emerging route to reconcile energy efficiency with adaptive control. By actively reconstructing passive surfaces to store programmable interfacial energy, hybrid systems enable flexible yet low‐power liquid transport, with perspectives ...

Emerging roles of haemostatic proteins as markers of disease progression and prognosis in breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yesExploration of Targeted Anti-tumor Therapy
Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer death in women worldwide. One of the major causes of death from breast cancer is metastatic disease, which results from the malignant cells invading and migrating through blood vessels to distant sites.

Multifunctional Wound Dressings: Melt Electrowritten Scaffolds Combined With Phytotherapeutic Composite Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasing prevalence of impaired wounds, caused mainly by diabetes or aging, alongside the growing number of bacterial infections, indicates the need for alternative tissue engineering solutions. In this study, we developed novel melt electrowritten (MEW) polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffolds incorporated with an alginate (Alg)–gelatin (Gel ...

Gellable silk fibroin-polyethylene sponge for hemostasis

open access: yesArtificial Cells, Nanomedicine, and Biotechnology, 2020
Traditional haemostatic materials generally have slow hemostasis rate and poor biocompatibility. This paper reports on the haemostatic properties and mechanism of silk fibroin (SF). SF-PEG sponge that could be solubilised and changed to gel form by blood

Laboratory monitoring of the haemostatic system changes during orthotopic liver transplantation [PDF]

open access: yesSrpski Arhiv za Celokupno Lekarstvo, 2013
Introduction. In liver diseases, all components of the haemostatic system are changed and the degree of dysfunction is proportional to hepatocellular damage.

Protein Corona Formation on Soft Nanocarriers Under Biomimetic Circulatory Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A biomimetic venous circulation system is developed to study protein corona formation on soft nanocarriers under physiological shear. Liposomes, PLGA nanoparticles, and lipid‐polymer hybrid nanoparticles acquire largely shared but material‐dependent protein coronas that alter surface properties and suppress cellular uptake, highlighting the importance ...
