Haemostatic changes in pregnancy
In normal pregnancy, there is a marked increase in the procoagulant activity in maternal blood characterized by elevation of factors VII, X, VIII, fibrinogen and von Willebrand factor, which is maximal around term. This is associated with an increase in prothrombin fragments (PF1+2) and thrombin-antithrombin complexes.

Multifunctional Adhesive Hydrogel for Rapid Cardiac Hemostasis and Antibacterial Protection
A multifunctional polyacrylamide/gelatin/tannic acid hydrogel (PGT) is presented for rapid cardiac hemostasis under wet, dynamic conditions. Surface tannic acid coating enables instantaneous wet adhesion, accelerates coagulation, and confers antibacterial activity within a single platform.
